RVC Car Dealerships Lay Off Dozens Due To Coronavirus
The virus forced the sales rooms of the dealerships to close, and now more than 100 people have been laid off.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — Two Rockville Centre car dealerships are laying off dozens of workers due to the coronavirus, according to documents filed with the state.
Karp Automotive, located at 372-400 Sunrise Highway, and Mercedes-Benz of Rockville Centre, down the block at 650 Sunrise Highway, both cited businesses circumstances caused by the coronavirus as the reason for the layoffs.
Karp is laying off 75 of its 110 workers. Mercedes-Benz is laying off 40 of its 168 workers.

While auto repair is deemed an essential service during the pandemic, car sales are not. The dealerships have been closed to sales for weeks now, like many other businesses.
