UPDATE: RVC Conservancy Hosting 'Kayaks on the Lake'

The Rockville Centre Conservancy is inviting residents to come and explore Hempstead Lake on June 1.

For one day only, kayaks will be made available right at the lake, the largest lake in Nassau County.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 1 at Hempstead Lake State Park's Eagle Avenue entrance at the second booth.

Fees for the event are as follows:

  • $40 for a double Kayak 50 minutes on the lake
  • $30 for a single 50 minutes on the lake
  • $5 fee if you bring your own Kayak (no inflatable rafts permitted)
Life vests will be provided. The is a New York State parking fee of $8, but bikes are welcome.

Residents can register on the RVC Conservancy's website.

It is recommended that those who wish to participate arrive early to ensure their spot on the lake. There are a limited number of kayaks.
