Rockville Centre 2021 School Budget Preview
Residents, who are facing a budget hike, can vote Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — The Rockville Centre Union Free School District has proposed a budget of $124 million, an increase of $1.3 million from the 2020-2021 budget. However, there is no hike in the tax levy.
The budget translates to $35,000 per student, according to the school district.
Overall, 58 percent would go toward salaries.

The proposed budget sets aside $900,000 for upgrades and repairs, the school district said on its website.
Residents can vote on the budget Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the South Side High School main gymnasium.

Incumbents for the board trustees election are Liz Dion and Kelly Barry. Erica Messier and Nancy Turnblacer are also on the ballot.
