
A Rockville Centre student was recently honored by the Long Island Association of Special Education Administrators at its annual awards luncheon.
Bryan Nesdill received the Conrad Hecht Memorial Award after being nominated by Noreen Leahy, assistant superintendent of pupil personnel services and special education at RVC schools. He was one of two Nassau County students to receive the award. Thomas Woodiwiss, a student in Oceanside Schools, also received the Hecht award.
LIASEA is a group of special education administrators who are responsible for programs and services in public and private schools or agencies. Its meetings “provide invaluable opportunities to dialogue with others who possess experience with and knowledge of the issues that challenge special education administrators, teachers, and parents,” according to a press release.
