RVC Teen Places First In International Writing Contest
Isabelle Lu placed first in the poetry category of the new Scribe Writing Contest.
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — A South Side High School student was the first ever first-place winner in the poetry category of the international Scribe Writing Contest.
The contest was organized by 17-year-old Vishnu Bharathram, a senior at Riverdale Country School in the Bronx, NY, in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic to help provide a distraction from the current state of events and encourage teens to use their imaginations.
South Side's Isabelle Lu placed first in the poetry category. $2,750 in cash prizes were awarded to the three top winners of the poetry category, as well as to the top three in the fiction category.
