RVC/Malverne Varsity Ice Hockey Team Clinches a spot in the NY State Ice hockey Tournament
Second place RVC/Malverne Cyclones Ice hockey team beats third place Locust Valley/North Shore last night at Ice Works

In the Liberty Division Final last night at Iceworks the second place Cyclones beat third place Locust Valley/North Shore in a come from behind victory. For close to two periods the Locust Valley goaltender shut down the Cyclones attack until Captain Sean Leavenworth comes threw with the Cyclones first goal with only 41 seconds left to play in the second period. The Cyclones were trailing 2-0 until that point of the game. In the third period the game went back and fourth with both teams not being able to captilize on many scoring opportunites. Then with 4:09 left in the third period Terence McMenamy slips one past the Locust Valley goaltender to tie the game at 2. The play continued and the period ended in a 2-2 tie forcing overtime. Going into sudden death overtime the Cyclones didn’t waste any time with only 52 seconds into the overtime period, once again Terence McMenamy comes up big with his second goal and the winner of the semi final Liberty Division game. With this win the RVC/Malverne ice hockey team earns a spot at the NY State Tournament in Jamestown. The Cyclones also advance to the Liberty Division final vs a tough Levittown team, Tuesday night at the Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Arena in Bethpage. The final Liberty Division game will be at the Long Beach Arena this Friday night at 8:45 PM
