South Shore Symphony in Concert

The South Shore Symphony Orchestra, under the Music Direction and Baton of Scott Jackson Wiley will be performing at Madison Theatre in Rockville Centre on Saturday November 9th at 7:30 PM. The program will feature Beethoven’s 8th Symphony, The Mendelssohn Violin Concerto, soloist Ming Feng Hsin and the Chopin Piano Concerto No. 1, soloist Suk Hee Hong.

Violinist Ming Feng Hsin was for several seasons the Conductor and Music Director of the South Shore Symphony. During his tenure, maestro Hsin programed the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with himself as soloist, and invited his colleague and friend, Scott Jackson Wiley, as guest conductor. Mr. Wiley subsequently took over as Music Director and Conductor of the South Shore Symphony when Mr. Hsin accepted a position as first violinist in the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and has led the Orchestra ever since for over 20 years. This concert is a reprise of that wonderful performance when maestro Hsin first dazzled our audience with his virtuosity.

Praised for her exceptional musical insight, beautiful tone, and technical command, the Korean-born American pianist Suk Hee Hong actively performs as a compelling soloist and a collaborative pianist in venues across the United States, Paraguay, and Chile. She has collaborated with many instrumental ensemble groups and vocalists, and performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and other major halls in New York and South America. Ms. Hong dedicatedly serves as an adjunct instructor, vocal and instrumental coach, and accompanist at Molloy College.
