South Side's Noah Dion Named National Merit Scholarship Finalist

Senior recognized for well-rounded academic career.

Dr. Carol Burris, Principal of South Side High School, is proud to announce that Noah Dion has been named a National Merit Scholarship Finalist in the 2013 scholarship competition.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is a United States academic scholarship competition for recognition and university scholarships administered by the the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

In order to advance to finalist standing, students must submit SAT scores, have an outstanding academic record and be recommended by a high school official. They must also submit an application that includes high school courses and grades, extracurricular and volunteer activities, and a self-descriptive essay.

Dion possesses all of the qualities recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Along with his stellar grades, Dion is a talented musician who readily shares his expertise with the school and local communities. He is a unique individual who will surely accomplish much as he continues his post-secondary education this fall.
