Police: Bookkeeper Stole $10K From Bellmore Business
A former bookkeeper has been charged with grand larceny for allegedly falsifying business records and adding funds to her own paycheck.

A Valley Stream woman stole $10,000 from the Bellmore company where she was employed, police said Tuesday.
Doreen Bilotto, 58, is charged with third-degree grand larceny and first-degree falsifying business records.

While employed as a bookkeeper for Metrocity Group, located at 2283 Bellmore Avenue, Bilotto added unauthorized funds in varying amounts to her own paycheck and then altered company business records to hide the theft, police said.
The company suffered a $10,000 loss, according to Crimes Against Property Detectives.

Bilotto doctored her checks and the business records between April 22 and Sep. 23.
After an investigation, Bilotto was placed under arrest on Tuesday after surrendering to Nassau Police.
