Village Announces New Memorial Day Parade Route

Rockville Centre will hold its annual Memorial Day parade on May 27, but a new route will go into effect this year.

According to Rockville Centre Police, the route change is due to construction on Maple Avenue.

Maple Avenue was temporarily fixed for March's St. Patrick's Day parade, but that will not be the case for the Memorial Day festivities.

The new route has the parade starting at South Side High School. The parade will then carry on westward on Shepherd Street to North Long Beach Road. From there, it will move south on North Long Beach Road to Oceanside Road and then south on Oceanside Road to the Rockville Centre Recreation Center.

The parade starts at 10 a.m. There will be a memorial service at the recreation center immediately following the parade.
