The Andrus award recognizes Mr. Bena’s decades of advocacy for children on the global stage through his sustainable development and operational outreach work for PepsicCo Global Operations.
Dan has spent 30 years at PepsiCo, which supports & enables his passion for solutions to global water insecurity and the development and empowerment of youth. He was instrumental to a collaboration that enabled PepsiCo to provide 3 MM people with access to safe water, a critical impact considering that a child dies every 20 seconds from a waterborne disease. Last year, Dan provided an opening address to 1,200 youth ambassadors from over 100 countries at the United Nations Youth Assembly. Before that, he led the PepsiCo Foundation sponsorship of the Spirit of Innovation Awards, to engage high school youth in STEM education. He currently serves on the Board of the Creative Visions Foundation, whose Rock Your World program engages middle and high school students in the UN Declaration of Human Rights, and provides them tools to become agents of social change. We are inspired by his generosity of spirit and his dedication to improving the quality of life for so many.
