Blind Brook Schools To Close Tuesday
A parent in the district who is in the health-care field has been quarantined for possible exposure to the new coronavirus.
RYE BROOK, NY — All schools in the Blind Brook district will be closed Tuesday due to concern about the new coronavirus. School officials said a parent who works in the health-care field has been quarantined for possible exposure to COVID-19, as the virus is known.
The parent and family are following protocol for health-care employees and have been quarantined and tested for the virus.
School officials said the tests are expected within 48 hours.

The students attend the Bruno M. Ponterio Ridge Street School and presently have not presented with any symptoms.

Because the test results are still pending, the district decided to close for Tuesday. If the results have not been received before Wednesday, there may be the need to remain closed for an additional day, school officials said.
