Croton Woman Admits To Stealing From Rye YMCA

RYE, NY — A woman who was a senior program manager at the Rye YMCA admitted in court that she stole almost $200,000 from the organization. Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino Jr. said Lee Ann Borg, 31, of Croton-on-Hudson, pleaded guilty to third-degree grand larceny, a felony.

She is free on bail and was ordered to pay full restitution. Authorities said, if she fails to comply with the order, Borg will serve time in state prison.

She is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 7.

The district attorney's office said Borg worked as a senior program manager at the Rye YMCA. In that position, she had access to a corporate credit card to make business purchases.

In reviewing payment records, YMCA officials discovered Borg had been improperly using the credit card for personal purchases at retail stores, including Dick's Sporting Goods, Walmart and CVS, as well as purchasing gift cards for her own personal use.

She also bought high-end clothing, shoes and handbags from Amazon which were sent to her personal address as well as to homes of friends and family.

In total, authorities said Borg stole $195,157.58 from the YMCA.
