
A cold front swinging across the northeast United States will bring rain through Friday morning, with a few isolated thunderstorms possible.
But no worries—that's just just the beginning of the three-day holiday weekend.
"Good news is the frontal passage will also set the stage for a gorgeous weekend with lots of sunshine and temps near 60," said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.

The National Weather Service prediction for southern Westchester County:
- Friday-Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 3pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. High near 65. South wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Friday Night-A chance of showers before 9pm. Mostly clear, with a low around 36. North wind 9 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
- Saturday-Sunny, with a high near 54. North wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm in the afternoon.
- Saturday Night-Partly cloudy, with a low around 39.
- Sunday-Mostly sunny, with a high near 55.
- Sunday Night-A chance of rain after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
