Edith Read Wildlife Sanctuary Presents 2 Outdoor Events Saturday
At one event, you can learn how to shelter insects to make your garden healthier.
RYE, NY — The Edith Read Wildlife Sanctuary will hold two events Saturday. Organizers said one event will show how to promote a healthy garden by providing shelter for insects.
The second will give amateur or skilled artists a chance to connect with nature.

June 24, Saturday: 10 a.m. Build a Beneficial Bug Hotel for Your Garden: The wildflowers and gardens around your home need a variety of insects in order to be productive and healthy. Support them by making these simple accommodations for your garden guests to take up residence. Cost: $5
June 24, Saturday: 1 p.m. Art in Nature: Painting Outdoors: Get tips and instruction from painter and illustrator Steve Pica on how to capture the “plein-air” quality of light and open space. Bring your own painting materials and equipment and join us at the sanctuary. Primarily for experienced painters, but all are welcome.
The Edith Read Wildlife Sanctuary is located at 100 Playland Parkway in Rye.
