High Winds Leave Hundreds Without Power in Westchester

According to Con Ed's outage map, restoration work is ongoing.

High winds overnight caused power outages across Westchester County.

According to Con Ed's outage map, 1,472 customers are currently without power. The largest concentration seems to be in Rye, where there are 119 reported outages, most in the area of Osborn and Haviland roads. 

In some cases, the utility estimates having power back on early this morning. In other cases, crews are still assessing the damage.

Route 120 is closed in New Castle between Douglas Road and Kipp Street, as a downed tree is hanging on wires over the roadway.

A high wind advisory has been in effect on the Tappan Zee Bridge since very early this morning. The posted speed limit has been upped to 45 MPH on the bridge as of 4:10 a.m. from 35 MPH earlier.
