Hit-And-Run Leads To DWI Charge For CT Man

Police said the man's blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.23 percent.

RYE, NY — A hit-and-run crash in the City of Rye resulted in the arrested of a Connecticut man Friday evening. State police responded around 8 p.m. to the intersection of Boston Post Road and the I-95 entrance ramp in Rye.

Troopers found that the vehicle that left the scene on I-95 near exit 14 was being driven by Ivan Rojas-Juarez, 29, of Willimantic, Connecticut.

Police said he was intoxicated. He was taken into custody and processed at the New Rochelle barracks where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.23 percent.

Rojas-Juarez was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

He was released to a sober third party and issued appearance tickets returnable to the City of Rye Court June 12.

No one was injured as a result of the accident, police said.
