July 4th 2019: What's Open, Closed In Rye
ShopRite and Stop and Shop have Independence Day hours; so does one US Post Office. Here are details.
RYE, NY — Thursday is the Fourth of July — Independence Day — and you've got your holiday planned. You've got the sparklers, the buns for both hot dogs and burgers, propane or coals for the grill. But what if you need that one thing you just realized you forgot?
Here is a guide to what is open and what is closed for the holiday.
- Mail: Post offices will be closed Thursday, express delivery only. Exception: Palisades Center Post Office, West Nyack.
- Post office Self-Service Kiosks with 24/7 access are located at the following Westchester County locations: White Plains Main Post Office, Hartsdale, Scarsdale, Rye, Larchmont and Yonkers East.
- New York State offices: Closed.
- Municipal Offices: Closed.
- Banks: Closed.
- New York Stock Exchange: Closed.
- Retail stores: It varies. A store may be closed or may have shortened hours. For example, the Palisades Center has normal operating hours from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Fourth of July.
- Supermarkets: Usually open for at least shortened hours. For example, All ShopRite and Stop and Shop stores said they will be open normal hours. You can call ahead to make sure.
- Libraries: Closed.
- Metro-North: Go here.
