Lucky Playland Baby Ducky Is Safe Thanks To Westchester Cop

A fine-feathered friend has Westchester's finest to thank for saving its tail feathers after its goose was nearly cooked.

RYE, NY — After finding itself in a fowl situation, one baby duck waddled away from disaster safe and sound thanks to the dedication of Westchester's finest.

Westchester County Parks Patrol and Emergency Service Unit officers flocked to assist Westchester Parks workers at Playland Friday morning for a down-on-his-luck duckling. The fuzzy-feathered friend took an ill-advised dip in a storm drain and became trapped while his family was spending the day at the county’s busiest park.

The duckling was rescued by Officer Nick Zebrowski. While the harrowing escape gave onlookers goosebumps, the newly assigned Special Operations Division - Emergency Service Unit member treated the whole affair like water off a duck’s back.

The freed duckling reportedly gave a nod of appreciation and headed in the direction of the waiting family, apparently preferring the company of birds of a feather.

There is no word whether taxpayers will be left to “web foot” the bill for this rescue operation.
