Man Accused Of Fatally Stabbing Blind Brook Grad Indicted

The Long Island resident remains in jail.

BINGHAMTON, NY — The Binghamton University student who was accused of stabbing another student to death was indicted by a grand jury Monday. Michael Roque, 20, was indicted for second-degree murder.

If convicted Roque could be sentenced to up to 25 years to life in prison, pressconnects.com said.

An arraignment has not yet been scheduled for the Massapequa, Nassau County, native.

According to the indictment, Roque allegedly caused the death of 19-year-old Joao Souza in his dorm room April 15, wicz.com said.

Roque had entered a not-guilty plea when he was initially charged.

Souza was a first-year engineering student at Binghamton University. He graduated from Blind Brook High School and was considered a star soccer player.
