Recycling Your Christmas Tree

Now that the holidays are over, and you are ready to get rid of the beautiful Christmas tree that you took your time to search for and to decorate. Here are some protocol to follow to recycle your tree in Rye.

Now that Christmas is over and you are ready to start to take down your Christmas tree, here are a few rules for recycling your tree in Rye.

Trees will be collected on regular green waste days, which are Wednesdays.

All tinsel, lights, etc. need to be removed and trees should NOT be put into plastic bags.

The first Green Waste pickup of 2014 is on Wednesday January 8th.  Additional Green Waste pickup days will be on January 15th and 29th (not on the 22nd due to Martin Luther King Day).

The 2014 Sanitation Calendar will be posted on the city’s website by the end of the year, according to City Engineer, Ryan Coyne.
