Rye Among Best Elementary Schools In 2018-19: Niche
29 Hudson Valley schools are among the top 100 elementary schools in New York.
RYE, NY — Twenty-nine Hudson Valley schools made the list of the top 100 public elementary schools in New York in 2019 by Niche.com. The list was dominated by Long Island, there are schools from the Rye city school district on the list.
Of the top 10 schools, only two are Hudson Valley schools and they're both in Scarsdale. Fox Meadow Elementary School was ranked No. 29 in the nation and No. 8 in New York. The Edgewood School was ranked No. 9 in New York and No. 30 in the country.
Most local schools on the list were from Westchester County. Six districts — Scarsdale, Edgemont, Chappaqua, Rye, Mamaroneck and Katonah-Lewisboro — had more than one school on the Top 100 list.

The top Rockland County school on the list was Laurel Plains Elementary School in the Clarkstown school district, ranked No. 49.
The top elementary school in Putnam County was Kent Elementary in the Carmel district. The top school in Dutchess was the Hagen School in Spackenkill. The top school in Orange was Cornwall Elementary. The top school in Ulster was Phoenicia Elementary. None made the top 100 list.

Niche named Pine View School in Sarasota, Florida, the nation's top elementary school.
