RYE, NY — The polls have closed and the votes have been tallied. The unofficial results are in. Here's what the voters decided in the 2021 Rye City School District and Blind Brook School District budget elections.
RYE SCHOOL DISTRICT:
The proposed budget of $94,237,421, with a 2.00 percent increase over the 2020-21 spending package was APPROVED by a vote of 1,529 Yes to 494 No

School officials said the tax levy will now increase by 2.74 percent.
There were 3 seats available for the Rye Schools Board of Education. The winning candidates for the seats are:

- Callie Erickson (incumbent)
- Kelsey Johnson
- Chris Repetto (incumbent)
BLIND BROOK SCHOOL DISTRICT:
The proposed budget of $51,169,419, with a 1.41 percent increase over the 2020-21 spending package was APPROVED by a vote of 233 to 42.
School officials said the tax levy will not increase for the first time in more than 20 years.
According to the district, the major driver of the modest budget increase is contractual salary obligations and the addition of five new positions, including two custodial and three teaching positions.
There were a total of two school board seats to be filled for three-year terms. The winning candidates for school board are:
- Scott Jaffee (incumbent)
- Jeffrey Mensch
Both candidates ran unopposed.
