Rye, Blind Brook Give OKs To 2019-20 Budgets

Voters went to the polls Tuesday to decide on school budgets and board members.

RYE, NY — Voters in the Rye school district approved the $91 million budget for the 2019-20 school year. According to unofficial results, the budget was approved 1,611 to 655.

The budget was 1.92 percent more than the current spending plan and the tax levy increase was 2.82 percent, which was within the state mandated tax cap.

Three candidates were vying for two seats on the board of education. The winners were Jennifer Boyle and Jane Anderson, according to unofficial results. Also on the ballot was Pooja Kotecha.


Voters in the Blind Brook-Rye school district approved the $46.3 million budget for the 2019-20 school year. According to unofficial results, the budget was approved 287 to 52.

The budget was 2.43 percent more than the current spending plan and the tax levy increase was 2.96 percent, which was within the state mandated tax cap.

One candidate, Ryan S. Goldstein, ran to fill one vacancy.
