Verizon Fios Picks Up Fios1 News Competitor
The cable company will continue providing local news coverage with the addition of an established outlet.
RYE BROOK, NY — Verizon Fios television customers will still be receiving local news after the company ends Fios1 News Nov. 15. Verizon will be adding rival News 12 to its lineup.
The company made the announcement as area lawmakers were gathering for a 10 a.m. news conference at New Rochelle City Hall to speak out against the loss of local news and 150 jobs, the Journal News reported.
Fios1 News has bureaus in Westchester County, in New Jersey and on Long Island.
