2 Workers Die In Falls Hours Apart On Long Island
The tragedies occurred Monday as a landscaper and roofer fell to their deaths in West Hills and Holbrook.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Two men fell to the deaths hours apart on Long Island on Monday, police said.
The first accident occurred in West Hills shortly before 11 a.m. Vicente Oliver, a landscaper for Rodney’s Landscaping, was trimming a tree outside a home on Bluebird Lane when a branch he was secured to broke and he fell about 40 feet to the ground, Suffolk police said.
Oliver, 51, of Levittown, was taken by ambulance to Huntington Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The other fatal fall occurred in the afternoon in Holbrook.
Hector Aranda-Sanchez, an employee of a Yonkers-based roofing company, was on the roof of Four Seasons Sunrooms and Windows at 5005 Veterans Memorial Highway when the 27-year-old fell from the roof around 3:40 p.m.

Aranda-Sanchez, of Peekskill, was taken to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified of both accidents and is investigating.
