21-Year-Old Man Killed In Crash Between Quad, Car

RONKONKOMA, NY — A 21-year-old man was killed in a crash between a quad and a car Ronkonkoma Friday night.

According to police, Brandon Niles, of Bohemia, was riding a Honda 300EX quad north on Lakeland Avenue when it collided with a 2017 Chevrolet Cruz heading west on Marconi Avenue around 8 p.m.

Niles was transported by Lakeland Fire Department to Long Island Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His brother Tyler Niles, 19, of Bohemia, who had been operating a Honda 400EX quad to the left of his brother at the time of the crash, was able to avoid the collision and was not injured. The driver and passenger in the Chevy were not injured.

No criminal charges have been filed.

All three vehicles were impounded. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
