Long Island Weather: 50 MPH Winds, Flooding, Road Closures Likely
There will be an elevated threat of property damage along parts of the coast. See the latest storm timeline.

Long Island got a healthy dose of rain Wednesday, but Thursday's wet weather will also bring flooding and likely power outages to the island.
A coastal flood warning will be in effect from 5 p.m. until midnight Thursday for southern Nassau County and southwestern Suffolk County. There is an elevated threat of property damage, with widespread flooding of vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline, and 2-3 feet of inundation above ground level in low-lying, vulnerable areas. Numerous road closures are likely along the South Shore, the National Weather Service says.
Wind will also be an issued. A wind advisory will be in effect from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday in Suffolk County. Gusts up to 50 mph are possible.

"Gusty, strong winds may cause power outages so please be prepared, stay safe and report any outage immediately," PSEG Long Island wrote on its Facebook page.
Large breaking waves will cause beach flooding and erosion on the oceanfront.

Thursday- Rain, mainly after 9am. Steady temperature around 54. Windy, with a north wind 23 to 28 mph, with gusts as high as 46 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Thursday Night- Rain likely, mainly before midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 52. Windy, with a northeast wind 24 to 28 mph, with gusts as high as 44 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Friday- Rain likely, mainly before noon. Cloudy, with a high near 60. Windy, with a northeast wind 26 to 29 mph, with gusts as high as 44 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Friday Night- A 40 percent chance of rain before 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a steady temperature around 57. Breezy.
Saturday- Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63.
