Call for entries: 2012 PCLI Media Awards

It’s time, once again, for the annual Press Club of Long Island Media Awards Competition, recognizing outstanding work in print, broadcast and online journalism produced during 2011.

The 2012 PCLI Media Awards Competition begins Monday, Jan. 9, 2012 with the final deadline for all entries on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012.

This year, for the first time, all entries are to be submitted online. To enter your submissions, read the rules and instructions.

Please note there are several new categories in each division, including Best Headline and Non-Local News/Feature. There are also some changes to the rules, so please read them carefully before submitting your entry.

As in past years, the first entry for individuals who are Press Club of Long Island members is free. You can check if your membership is current at www.spj.org.

As always, panels of judges from other regions will choose the winners.

Finally, mark your calendar and plan to attend the annual PCLI Media Awards Dinner on Thursday, June 7, 2012, at the Woodbury Country Club.
