County Executive Welcomes Biplane Pilots to Flight Over Suffolk Marathon

Four pilots to fly in diamond formation in race to benefit veterans

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone on Monday welcomed pilots who will fly their biplanes over the CHS second annual Suffolk County Marathon, Half Marathon and 5k on Sunday, Oct. 30.

The four pilots from the Bayport Aerodrome will fly in a diamond formation over the start of the course in Patchogue.

“These pilots have the most amazing skills, which will be on display as they fly over,” the County Executive said. “Their antique planes are a part of American history and this flight will serve as an inspiration to everyone who will be running.”
