Man High On Drugs Crashed With Child In Car On LIE: Police
The 35-year-old needed to be revived with Narcan after the crash, police say.

HOLBROOK, NY — A 35-year-old man was driving while high on drugs when he rear-ended a pickup truck on the Long Island Expressway in Holbrook Monday morning, police said.
Benjamin Laudonio, of Holbrook, is charged with operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs, aggravated DWI with a child less than 16 years old and endangering the welfare of a child.
According to Suffolk police, Laudonio was driving a 2015 Acura when he rear-ended a 2004 Ford pickup truck on the westbound LIE, just west of Exit 61-Patchogue-Holbrook Road, at about 9:35 a.m.

Highway Patrol officers assisted the Ronkonkoma Fire Department, who administered Narcan to Laudonio. Narcan is used to reverse the effects of overdoses of opioid drugs.
Laudonio was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 14-year-old in Laudonio's car was not injured and was released into the custody of a family member. The pickup driver refused medical attention.

Laudonio is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
