East's Hagenburg Commits to Mercy for Lacrosse

Will play Division II lacrosse in upstate New York.

Sachem East senior Jenn Hagenburg has committed to play lacrosse at Mercy College.

She will study biology and start her route towards the physical therapy program there.

“Getting the opportunity to play Division II lacrosse is something that I always dreamed of,” she said. “I never thought that I would actually get the chance.”

Hagenburg said she fell in love with the school the first time she stepped on the campus.

“What makes it even better is that I'm going to be playing with some friends that I used to play travel lacrosse with,” she said. “The girls on the team and the coaches are all so nice and I'm so excited to be getting the opportunity to play lacrosse there.”

Mercy competes in the East Coast Conference and was 9-6 overall in 2011.

Hagenburg is joined by teammate (Dominican) as the first two players on East girl's lacrosse to commit to a college.
