FD Commissioner Election Results

Williams, Skippon, Corsale, Skalocky win in respective districts.

On Tuesday taxpayers voted in their respective fire district commissioner elections.

Joe Williams, the current Commissioner for Suffolk County Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services, is again a commissioner in Holbrook. An Ex-Chief of the department and former New York City fireman, Williams, 66, defeated Michael Tarantino for the open seat, 158-131.

John Skippon bounced out incumbent Bob Wallace in the Farmingville Fire District election by a vote of 382-240. Skippon, 25, is a captain of the rescue company at Farmingville.

"I'd like to thank everyone who came out to support me in my election," Skippon said. "Working together with the rest of the board, I see changes ahead that will be better for the community. I'd like to thank all my friends and family for the support."

In Holtsville, John Skalocky beat Ron Rizzo.

Ron Corsale beat incumbent Fred Stahl, 344-219, in the Ronkonkoma Fire District election. Corsale, 27, is a New York City fireman and a captain in the Ronkonkoma Fire Department.

The community did approve a referendum to purchase two new trucks for $980,000.
