Habanero's in Holbrook to Close

Habenero's, a Tex-Mex restaurant in the heart of Holbrook, is shutting down. Habanero's owner Brian Kiley made the announcement Wednesday afternoon on the restaurant's Facebook page.

"It is with my utmost sincerity that I want to thank all of you for your support and patronage over the past 5 years," Kiley wrote. "Most of you, I have come to know as friends so please know this was not an easy decision to make. As we head into a new year I will be seeking out new opportunities and I am looking forward to spending quality time with my family. Habaneros will not be reopening in the new year. It is bittersweet and I will miss all of you. I am looking forward to the next chapter in my life."

The news came as a shock to many local residents, who have given the restaurant glowing reviewsover the last several years. Actor Kevin James grabbed a bite at Habenero's earlier this year.
