Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Long Island
Damaging winds, large hail and even an isolated tornado are possible Friday.
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for region.
"Thunderstorms on Friday afternoon into Friday evening may be accompanied by gusty winds and heavy rainfall," the outlook says.
The highest threat of storms on Long Island will actually come Friday night, from about 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. Saturday, according to the hour-by-hour forecast.

"The primary threats will be damaging winds and large hail," the weather service says. "An isolated tornado is also possible."

Thursday Night- Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly after 2am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 57. South wind 8 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Friday- A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 3pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 75. Southwest wind 9 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
Friday Night- Showers and thunderstorms likely before 1am, then a chance of showers. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. Southwest wind 10 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Saturday- A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 69. Northwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming northeast in the afternoon.- Saturday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 48. East wind 7 to 10 mph.
Sunday- A 30 percent chance of showers after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 59.
Sunday Night- A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49.
Monday- A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 60.
Monday Night- A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50.
Tuesday- A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 59. Breezy.
