We need your help with a very special animal project…finding a loving, active home for Maggie. Many of you know that my friend Bobbi and I volunteer at Brookhaven Animal Shelter and get to know many of the dogs there. So, why Maggie? Â
Well, Maggie has been at the shelter for over 3 years. When her owners were arrested, she and two other dogs arrived at the shelter. Both of those dogs were adopted. Maggie is currently at a temporary foster home – we needed to get her out of the shelter at least for a short time – but she needs a loving home.
The foster family loves her, but cannot keep her since they have a dog and a cat. Maggie has her own room in their house with a couch – luxury compared to the shelter. Maggie cannot be in a home with cats and, in my opinion, she would do the best in a home without any other animals. Maggie is GREAT with kids! The foster family has young kids. Maggie went hiking with my 3 kids (ages 4, 7 and 11). She walks pretty good, tugs a bit, but is getting better every time we take her out! She sits and eats treats very gently from your hands – my kids all gave her treats from their hands!

Maggie is a female, adult, brown/brindle pit mix that has been spayed and is up-to-date on all of her shots. Her approximate age is 8.
Maggie would make an amazing pet for an adult or family with or without kids! Please consider her or send this to everyone and anyone you know. We really need to find her a home as soon as possible.
