UPDATED: Multiple People Injured in Farmingville Accident

Pedestrian struck on Horseblock Road Wednesday starts chain of injuries.

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Horseblock Road Wednesday evening, which led to multiple injuries and collisions, according to Suffolk County Police.

Police said Eileen Crain was walking westbound on the south side of Horseblock Road, on the eastbound lanes (walking against traffic), and was struck by a 1999 Toytoa Camry near Old Medford Avenue around 6:30 p.m.

The Camry, that was traveling eastbound on Horseblock Road, then went into the westbound lane and struck two westbound vehicles, a 2006 Mitsubishi flatbed truck and a 1996 Toyota Tercel. The female driver also struck the car behind the flatbed truck, police said.

Crain, 27, of Lake Grove, was  transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue with serious physical injuries.  

The driver of the Camry, Cindy Baggee, 24, of Bellport, was treated at Stony Brook University Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.  The driver of the flatbed truck, Alberto Lemos, 22, of Farmingville, was transported to Stony Brook where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

His passenger, Carlos Silva, 26, of Farmingville, was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. 

The driver of the Tercel, Jose Goncalves, 53, of Farmingville, was transported to Stony Brook University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Baggee’s children, an 11-month-old child and a two-year-old child, who were properly secured in car-seats in the rear of the car, were not injured.
