Obituary: Robert C. Batewell, Former Longtime Teacher At Sachem School District
The Bellport native passed away on March 24.
Robert C. Batewell, a former teacher at the Sachem School District, passed away after a six-month fight against melanoma on March 24, 2017.
Batewell spent 33 years as a teacher in Sachem, spending one year at Tecumseh Elementary and 32 years at Grundy Elementary.
The Bellport native attended Dowling College and raised his family in Holbrook.

A funeral service was held on March 26 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.
Interment took place at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
