Peacock Shows Up At Holtsville Home, Won't Leave

Is this your peacock?

A peacock has apparently taken a liking to a Holtsville home, but the human residents there would like to find its owner if it has one.

"A rogue peacock wandered into my girlfriend's mother's yard in Holtsville yesterday and won't leave," Mark DiLeo told Patch Friday morning.

The peacock showed up on Blue Point Road West near the Holtsville Ecology Center, but the center said it's not theirs, according to DiLeo. Bloomin Haus Nursery also said it wasn't missing a peacock.

Peacocks are not native to Long Island, but it's not all that rare to find them wondering around. In April, a peacock stopped by a Yaphank home, News 12 reported.
