Sachem Community Helps Woman in Need
Raises money to keep her an area resident longer.

Two weeks ago Sachem Patch asked the community to help a local resident in need during the holiday season.
I'm proud to say that within 48 hours of the initial story post and social media burst through Sachem Patch, we were greatly able to help Venus Jones, a Farmingville resident.
Jones, who lost her job at the Carco Group in Holtsville last year and is unable to collect disability, was nearly evicted from her home.

With the help of another employee from the Carco Group bringing this to the attention of Sachem Patch, a handful of individuals and organizations raised enough money for Jones to start the new year off on a good note and remain a resident of the Sachem community, where she raised her son Charles Jones, who attended Sachem High School East and died in a car accident three years ago.
Sachem Patch delivered the donations to Ms. Jones on Tuesday, January 3 and she expressed her heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the help. Like many others, she may have a rough road yet ahead, but the people who helped give her this tremendous gift are an example of the good natured and kind members of the Sachem community that I'm proud to call my neighbors.
