Sachem East 'Adopt-A-Senior' Program 2021
Calling ALL Sachem Community members & beyond...show our 2021 Seniors some LOVE!!!! 'Adopt-A-Senior' Program going on NOW!!!!

FARMINGVILLE, NY — After a group of parents started sharing ideas, the community is coming together to give Sachem East's High School's Class of 2021 a final few months to remember for the rest of their lives.
A new Facebook page, "Sachem East Adopt a Senior 2021", gives members of the community a chance to give back to seniors who have seen many dreams cut short.
Parents of seniors and Community Members that are interested in 'adopting' are able to go to the Facebook page and fill out 2 different Google forms: one for their Senior to be adopted and one showing interest in adopting a Senior. More detailed information regarding 'who adopted who' will be given out at the beginning of April.

The Sachem East Parents have also been doing special events for seniors throughout the year: "Senior Sunrise" was still able to be shared, including watching the sunrise in their cars and receiving a bagged bagel breakfast. "Chalk the Walk" event was very well attended, and included parents and loved ones chalking East's sidewalk with positive thoughts and colorful love for their Seniors on a chilly Sunday morning. More events to shower these amazing young people during these last 4 months are still in the works!
Those who participate in the "Sachem East Adopt a Senior 2021" event can send cards and small gifts leading up to graduation. The goal is to have a steady stream of support from the parents and community to help these hard working Seniors make it to their final destination, their Graduation, the event that they have been dreaming about since Kindergarten!

To get more details regarding this beautiful opportunity, reach out to the 2 parents who have been at the heart of this event since the beginning: Debra Furey (mjfdjf@optonline.net) and Michelle Capra-Mann (shelshkr@optonline.net).
Thank you to all who decide that THIS is something they want to be a part of...something that's bigger than themselves...something that will change a young person's life forever!
