Sachem East sophomore Anmol Gupta placed second at this year’s Long Island Brain Bee, held last month at C.W. Post.
The Brain Bee is a neuroscience knowledge competition for high school students. Over 250 neuroscience questions were asked and the final question was: Destruction of the ventrolateral preoptic nucleus produces what? Answer: Irreversible insomnia.
At the competition, the first, second and third place winners received trophies, and all contestants received a certificate.
