Sachem North Clinches 14-13 Victory Over Connetquot

Sachem North varsity football are heading to Stony Brook for the Division I championship game after clinching a 14-13 victory after a nail-biting end against Connetquot Saturday at Connetquot High School.

After Connetquot scored their second touchdown with 41 seconds remaining in the game, they attempted a two-point conversion to take the lead away from Sachem North.

The attempt failed, and North head coach Dave Falco said the ball was swatted by North's Michael O'Donnell.

"Great job by our defense and a tough call for them," Falco said after the game.

North's two touchdowns scored in the first half of the game were from Kevin Bragaglia and Trent Crossan. Connetquot's first touchdown came in the fourth quarter with 7:51 left.

The championship game on Nov. 24 at noon will be no cakewalk, as Sachem North will again face William Floyd. According to MSG Varsity, Floyd beat Commack 28-14 Saturday, and earlier this season Floyd beat Sachem North 42-14 in October.
