Sachem Spellers Face Off In Annual Competition

A group of spectacular spellers from Sachem High School North took their talents to the stage for the fourth annual North Spelling Bee, led by Patrick Barry and Jonathan Weston and hosted by the Sachem North English Department.

Following two in-class rounds held on previous days, each grade-level champion competed in the final round to be named the schoolwide champion in the building auditorium on Feb. 14. The freshman champion was Alex Chopyk, the sophomore champion was Henry Pimentel, the junior champion was Marin Koferl and the schoolwide and senior champion was Graham Burdick. Graham secured the title of schoolwide spelling champion after successfully spelling the word “auspicious.”
