Sachem Swimmers Raise Funds for Special Olympics
Relays for a Reason event was a success with varsity teams.

Last Saturday, the Sachem swim teams combined to raise nearly $3,500 for the Special Olympics with their Relays for a Reason event.
Swimmers from the girls and boys varsity squads at Sachem East competed in a day of fun relay events for a strong cause.
"Myself and the head boys swim coach Bill Kropp were there to help and we enjoyed ourselves as much as the swimmers," said Sachem East girls swim coach Kathleen Dugan. "We are hoping to continue this event each year and raise more and more money for Special Olympics."

Sachem East's Valerie Zeffiro deserves a bulk of the credit for putting together this event and doing a wonderful job. Her coaches and teammates were very complimentary of her efforts throughout the week.
