Sequoya Student-Author Speaks At Holbrook Chamber

12-year-old Holbrook girl talks about having a learning disability.

Sky Burke is a 12-year-old author from Holbrook attending Sequoya Middle School who recently became the youngest member of the Holbrook Chamber of Commerce.

Burke gave a presentation to the Chamber at a previous meeting about living with her disabilities of dyslexia and dysgraphia, and the organization has posted it to their Youtube channel. The video can be viewed by clicking here, or viewing it embedded above this post.

Burke recently released “I Am Just Me”, which she co-wrote with Penny Weber on how Burke lives with dyslexia and dysgraphia. The book can be found on CreateSpace by clicking here.

In April, Burke was presented with a Junior Achievement Award through Smart Kids with Learning Disabilities, a nonprofit group that advocates for students with special needs.
