Sibishops Events For Special Needs Families Coming To Nokomis
Program being held monthly on Saturdays during the 2013-2014 school year.

The Sibishops program, which provides opportunities for brothers and sisters of children with special needs to obtain peer support through recreational activities, is taking place at Nokomis Elementary School, 151 Holbrook Rd. in Holbrook, once a month starting this Saturday.
According to a flyer, the program provides games and activities as well as information for the child. The program acknowledges that there is sometimes difficulty to being the brother or sister of a person with special health and developmental needs.
The Sibishops events are being run by Millenium Children's Therapy, and specifically overseen by Faith Katzman, a pediatric speech pathologist and sibling, and Elyse Pimsler, a pediatric occupational therapist.
Sessions are being held once monthly on Saturdays during the 2013-2014 school year (Nov. 23, Dec. 21, Jan. 25, Feb. 8, March 15, April 26, May 17 and June 21), from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sessions cost $35, and include art materials and pizza. Siblings should be between the ages of 5 and 12, and possible exceptions can be asked for those outside this age group.
