Snapchat Threat In Sachem School District Investigated: PD

Suffolk police said that there is no immediate threat to students. ​

LAKE RONOKONKOMA, NY — Suffolk police are investigating a threat posted on Snapchat just after 11 p.m. Sunday by a student at Sachem High School North in Lake Ronkonkoma, according to its public information office.

There is no immediate threat to students, a police spokeswoman said.

Sachem School District officials were notified of “a possible threat at one of the high schools that was posted to social media” on Monday, according to a message sent out to parents from Sachem High School East Principal Lou Antonetti.

In the message, Antonetti tells parents that district officials are "currently investigating" the possible threat "and have been in contact with the Suffolk County Police Department."

"Should more details become available we will notify you immediately," he adds.

In an email, Antonetti later told Patch that the threat “turned out to be nothing.” He did not respond to a follow-up email requesting more information.
