Donate to his charity fund now by clicking link below.
Lucas Oakes, a second grader at Waverly Avenue Elementary School in Holtsville is raising money for The Interfaith Nutrition Network (INN) in Hempstead.
The INN provides food, clothing and shelter for the hungry and homeless of Long island.
His goal is $5,000 by Christmas day so that he can adopt a room in one of the shelters for the next five years with the money going towards capital improvements of the room, making it ready for a homeless family to occupy.

As of Tuesday, Oakes has raised $1,570, which is enough to sponsor an entire meal and help plan the menu one day for all hungry people that come to The Inn for assistance.
Oakes, 7, started this quest, with the assistance of his family, to help others when his uncle asked him to pick a charity that he would like to make a donation to instead of receiving Christmas presents.
