“This is an incredible opportunity and I am up to the challenge of preserving the honor and history of the Suffolk County Sports Hall of Fame, while also taking a progressive and modern approach to advance the Hall,” said Vaccaro. “Eddie Morris has done a phenomenal job in growing the Hall and I’m looking forward to working with him to make the transition work for myself, Eddie and the Hall of Fame.”

“I want to thank my good friend George Waldbauer, a founding father of the SSHOF together with Butch Dellecave for encouraging me to join the board of directors in 1992,” said Morris. “Since then, and for the past 18 years as Executive Director, l have given my all to the Hall and enjoyed every minute of it. Now it’s time for some young blood to takeover and Chris Vaccaro is the perfect person for the job. I look forward over the next few months working with Chris for a smooth and orderly transition. I wish him luck in his new position.”
